Process & Quality Assurance
The use of quality assured raw materials forms the basis of our promise on quality throughout the manufacturing Process. Yarn which is the main raw material is sourced from Indonesia, Thailand, Austria, China and India. Our supply chain partners have been part of our success story in understanding the quality standards required by our customers to deliver the TJL Promise.
Manufacturing is a three-step process which takes place across three major production units:
The Knitting process converts the yarn (Cotton, Viscose, Modal and Polyester) into greige fabric.
The Dyeing process colours the griege to the specified Colour.
Finally the Finishing process ensures the dyed fabric is finished to the exacting standards.
At Teejay, quality is the core of everything we do. The pursuit of perfect quality spans all our operations, demonstrating why the Teejay name is synonymous with superior quality. During the Manufacturing Process, 100% of the fabric is tested at the Greige stage as well as the finishing stage and both roll to roll and batch to batch inspections are performed to ensure the TJL Promise is embedded into every meter of fabric delivered.
Confirming that we meet the highest global standards of quality, the Teejay colour lab is accredited by our world renowned partners

Making no compromise in our production, we use all the latest technology in our laboratory. It is equipped with Sri Lanka's first fully automated Datacolor dye dispensing system. This ensures that colour recipes are met with 100% accuracy. Meanwhile, a Datacolor Colour Management System is used for recipe prediction and colour quality control, while Datacolor Ahiba laboratory dye machines are used for dyeing samples. All lab dips are subjected to spectra reading to ensure that the DELTA value is maintained below one. Lab trials are constantly re-evaluated to ensure the best quality is met.
The knitting machines include Orizio, Myer & Cie, Terrot, Santec and Pai Lung circular weft knitted machines, as well as Kauo Heng flatbed knitting machines which is capable of delivering the finest fabric as per specification.

Both online inspection and 100% quality inspection are used to make sure our knitted products are free from defects. 100% inspection refers to top-to-bottom inspection of every fabric roll in every batch; each roll is quality guaranteed. This coupled with our experienced technical team ensures the best quality product is created with the highest quality.
Our Dye house is equipped with a fully automated dye and chemical dispensing system introduced by Color Service. Dye machines are manufactured by Thies with jet dyeing and air flow technology. Arel technology is used to control the dye house operations while the fully automated colour dispensing system ensures colour repeatability of fabric produced. The latest investment in technology of air flow machines ensure a reduction in the consumption of water, dyes, chemicals and energy in keeping with our promise on environmental sustainability.
The Finishing capabilities include encapsulation, moisture management, sueding and several other customised finishes. The finishing machines include machinery from Bruckner, Babcock and Santex with in-built automatic controls to achieve precise physical parameters.

We conduct online inspection at the finishing stage, along with 100% inspection of finished goods to ensure our promise on quality is guaranteed.
Process Management
A fully integrated SAP ERP system is used to control the entire process including sales and distribution, production, materials management and finance. Meanwhile, production planning is managed via the Fast React planning tool designed specifically for the industry.
